Week 10 - Anatomy & Movement

This week anatomy and movement was the topic. Also during this week there was a male life model. The first drawing is of the model sitting on a table and compared to the lady model his body is different. For this drawing the head should have also been larger. The body was mapped out again and there is some curvature in the spine which has been captured well. The outstretched leg has also been well drawn by following the planning lines.

For movement the model moved several different positions after 30 seconds and these had to be captured quickly.  This helps improve the observation as the model moves because you have to stay concentrated and see quickly the posture, the direction the body is facing and you get a sense of the basic anatomy. Only some information is drawn in the 30 second before the model moves so there is not enough time to capture detail. Animation is used in video games so it is good to capture the movement of a real person as this can help when creating an animation. Later the model did not stop moving for 2 minutes and the frames that you wanted to draw had to be chosen.
