Week 8 - Reflective Surfaces

Firstly two studies of a vase and two studies of a piece of cloth were done. These show the texture of the cloth and the vase where the cloth is rough and the vase is smooth. The vase also reflects its surrounding and has a metal reflective surface. The studies took 5 minutes to complete and the textures and reflective surface had to be captured.

This second image was completed in 10 minutes

This drawing was of the whole scene and took 25 minutes to complete. The scene contained two vases and a cloth draped over a table. The vase reflects everything in the surrounding including people who were sitting around them. When people moved some of the reflections moved on the vases. The cloth did have some lines on it but from the distance it was being drawn from they could not be seen. The strong light from the windows was causing shadows on the vase and on the draped cloth. The light source is coming from the right hand side and the scene has many several different values depending on the light that is being received. One of the table legs has not been drawn and it should have been seen with a cast shadow on the ground.
